If you're like me and have a multitude of cats or even just one cat, you probably have come across their whiskers lying about your house.
I know that I find one or two a week. From what I understand, they are a rare find...but not when you have FIVE cats (as I do) I'd assume. ;)
I have always wanted to do something with them, weave them into a quilt, use them in potpourri...but I never have.
I guess I'm a hoarder and just like to collect them, instead. I have them in a tiny bottle and simply continue adding more as I find them.
I know that cat's whiskers have been used over the ages in wish spells and I have decided now to share my wish spell and yes, part with some of my collected treasures.
It's not often I share a spell, (in fact, I think this might be my first time?) so I hope you'll enjoy this one...
Please note: NEVER, EVER pull out your cat's whiskers for a spell!! You must ONLY use fallen whiskers that your cat has shed, naturally!! Need to perform a ritual or spell that calls for cat's whiskers and have none? Use another spell. There is NO (zilch, zip, nada, nunca) universal law that says you have to use one spell and one spell only for your workings. Write your own spell, borrow one and re-word it, etc...but DON'T engage in animal abuse simply to perform a spell that has about a dozen (or more) different ways to be performed.
This is MY spell. I stressed the word, "my" because being as I wrote it, FOR ME, I can't guarantee you that it'll work for you. Feel free to try it, but you're probably better off altering it and using your own words, etc.
I don't worship, feel beholden to, or need to call upon any deity but myself, so as you will notice, my spell is granted by my power and my power, alone. You may feel differently and need to call on someone/thing higher than yourself. Hence...MY spell may not work for you.
Remember...I am a multi-generational, hereditary (hailing from a LONG line of very powerful NATURAL - meaning our power always has been...it was born into each of us - Witches on both sides of the family) and my power goes as far back as I can fathom...hence, I need only me for my spells to work...or not. It's not like I'm superwoman, and my spells don't always work, either. Imagine that...Witches aren't all powerful. *wink*
Your needs may be different, so just keep that in mind. If you use my spell and it works, yay! Let me know...I'll celebrate your success. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't.
Now...with that said here is my spell. Use it as a guide, alter it, change it...whatever you wish to do and enjoy! May it bring you your heart's desire/s!!
What You'll Need:
Four FALLEN cat whiskers, any color, any size
Incense powder any scent, any color (simply take an incense cone or two - depending on size- and crush them into dust)
Tall votive or short taper candle
Oil (I am using the term, "oil" as a blanket statement because this oil has whatever use I deem it for and I use it for ALL (well most) of my spell work, which may not be solely just for wishing!) consisting of: Olive Oil, tea tree oil (optional...the olive oil is what is important) your favorite herbs.
Spread oil on candle and set aside.
Sprinkle incense powder on a paper towel, situating the cat whiskers apart so you will pick up a whisker with each roll (which will be a total of four)
Roll your candle in the incense powder (four rolls to pick up four whiskers)
Put candle in a safe and approved holder and light
As down this candle burn,
Grant me what I yearn,
For ___(say what you wish for, here)_________
I make this plea,
I make this plea,
This is my wish,
I give to me...
Let your candle burn down for the night until it extinguishes ON ITS OWN. I place mine in my lantern and set outside. I believe in "wanderers," spirits looking for guidance and comfort. I also believe that the Fae pay a visit and like to have the comfort of a light to guide, warm and cheer them while in the mortal world, so my candles burn down, outside, for wanderers and Fae, alike.
